This unique play space was designed for the New York tot with a brightly colored NYC mural, eco-friendly toys and jungle gyms, tumbling mats and riders. For only $20 for the entire day, kids can really let loose here, as music, banging instruments and shrieks of joy are encouraged. There is also a small discovery cove for crawling babies not ready to hang with the toddlers.

For the Hipster Baby: PLAY Greenpoint
If you open a play space in one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods, it had better be spectacular. And PLAY, located at the intersection of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, across the street from McCarren Park, really delivers. In fact, we recently named it one of the best play spaces in the world. The 3,000-square-foot facility has all the ingredients of a kid-approved good time: a sizable tumbling gym for mastering the somersault, a music and arts studio to get creative juices flowing, loud noisemakers that would never see the light of day in your apartment and a locally-made playset with slides (because Brooklyn). Separate from the happy chaos is a specially cordoned-off area just for babies that’s all rounded edges, cushiony surfaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and age-appropriate toys and books. Open play is seven days a week, except for parties and private events. Our advice? Call ahead before heading over.

The wallpaper at PLAY Greenpoint is a one-of-a-kind, Dr. Seuss-esque masterpiece. While older kids can tackle the slides, babies can master their own age-appropriate obstacle course. Plus, there’s floor-to-ceiling walls for kids who love to people-watch.

When drop-in indoor romping spot PLAY opened its doors in fall 2010, we were impressed with its minimalist design, laid-back vibe and cute custom touches. But after the founders sold the business, the Greenpoint play space changed hands a few times and consequently underwent a lot of changes, not all popular with parents.
The good news is the current owners have worked hard to bring back a lot of what families loved about PLAY in the first place, including the cafe with fresh coffee and complimentary Wi-Fi, clean and stimulating toys and equipment, and a friendly staff. They also made some great additions to the 2,700-square-foot space like a gym room, a music and art studio, and an eco-friendly play set in the main playground area. Read more

Williamburg’s Three Most Awesome Indoor Play Spaces
Right beside leafy McCarren Park, PLAY snags the best location of the three. Wide picture windows also mean that most of its 3000-square-foot space is rammed with natural light – a lifeline on groggy winter days. Now on third owner in as many years, the space feels like it’s had a new lease of life. Read more …
